Personal Branding for Business Owners: Where to Start in 2024

If you're a business owner and you're not building a personal brand, you're leaving money on the table. People buy from people. Your logo doesn't build trust - you do.
Why Personal Branding Matters
Trust is the currency of modern business. A strong personal brand does three things: it differentiates you from competitors, it builds trust before the first conversation, and it attracts opportunities you didn't even know existed.
Where to Start
1. Pick One Platform
Don't try to be everywhere. If you're B2B, start with LinkedIn. If you're B2C, Instagram or TikTok. Master one before adding another.
2. Define Your 3-4 Content Pillars
What topics will you consistently talk about? Your industry expertise, your journey, your opinions, and your client results make a solid foundation.
3. Post Consistently
Three times a week is enough to build momentum. Five times if you want to accelerate growth. Less than twice a week and you'll struggle to build traction.
4. Be Opinionated
The worst thing you can be on social media is bland. Have a point of view. Disagree with conventional wisdom. Stand for something.
The business owners who build strong personal brands don't just attract followers - they attract clients, partnerships, speaking opportunities, and media coverage.
