The 5-Step AI Content Workflow That Saves Founders 6 Hours a Week

Most founders we speak to in 2026 are using AI for content, but they're using it badly: one-off ChatGPT requests, generic captions, no system. The result is content that sounds like everyone else's. Here's the workflow we run with our founder-marketing clients to cut content time by roughly 6 hours a week without losing brand voice.
Step 1: Capture Raw Ideas (Monday, 15 minutes)
Open a voice note and record 5 minutes of unfiltered thinking: client questions you've answered this week, an opinion you have on something happening in your industry, a mistake you've seen, a result a client got. Drop the transcript into Claude or ChatGPT with this prompt:
Prompt: "Here's a transcript of my unfiltered thinking. Pull out 8 distinct content angles a founder in [industry] could post about this week. For each, give me a one-line hook and the core point."
Step 2: Pick 3 Winners (Monday, 5 minutes)
From the 8, pick the 3 you actually have a strong opinion on. AI is brilliant at generating options, terrible at deciding what matters. That's still your job.
Step 3: Draft Long-Form (Tuesday, 30 minutes)
Write or dictate one 400-word LinkedIn post or article in your own words. This is the only piece of original writing you do all week. Everything else is repurposed from this.
Step 4: Repurpose with AI (Wednesday, 45 minutes)
Feed your long-form post to AI with this prompt:
Prompt: "Turn this post into: 1 carousel script (8 slides), 1 short-form video script (45 seconds, hook-led), 3 Instagram captions in 3 different angles, 1 email teaser (90 words). Match the tone of the original — no corporate language, no emojis unless I used them."
Step 5: Schedule and Engage (Friday, 30 minutes)
Schedule everything in Buffer, Later or Metricool. Then spend the remaining time replying to comments and DMs — that's where the algorithm signals (and the leads) actually live.

- Claude Sonnet 4.5 — best for nuanced writing and tone matching
- ChatGPT (GPT-5) — best for structured repurposing and bulk variations
- Otter or Granola — voice capture and transcription
- Metricool — scheduling and inbox management in one place
This Week
Block 90 minutes across Monday and Tuesday. Run steps 1–3 once. If the system survives one week, repeat it. Most founders find they get 5 days of content from a single morning of work.
